What are halogens in flame retardants?

The elements fluorine, chlorine and bromine are among the harmful halogens that release toxic fumes in the event of fire, which are life-threatening for humans and can lead to death by asphyxiation.

Why HALOGEN FREE?

  • low pollution or smoke development and lower risks in the event of fire

  • no outgassing and therefore no pollution of the environment

  • improved recyclability

  • safety/re-evaluation

  • „Blauer Engel“ eco-label can only be achieved without halogens  /de/zertifizierung/vergabekriterien#UZ132-2020

The PIR+ insulation core with exclusively halogen-free flame retardant - empowered by DOW - provides the basis for energy-efficient buildings - for an outstanding eco-balance and excellent fire behavior.

  • Building material class Bs1d0

  • Halogen-free flame protection

  • 100 % made in Austria

This makes BRUCHA a pioneer and the first European panel manufacturer to offer its customers the environmentally friendly, tried and tested BRUCHA PIR+ panel with a halogen-free insulating core for facades/walls and roofs.
